Drysdale Osteopathy Glasgow

David is the best there is. His skill is rare. I have been to David over the years for various ailments including long covid headaches, a shoulder injury which gave me years of pain and which David solved in a couple of sessions, perimenopause aches and recurring back problems. The great thing about David is he assesses the situation and then uses various methods including manipulation, dry needling, massage and cranial sacral massage to find the best way to eradicate and ease the pain. I know various tv and film stars visit David when in Glasgow. He’s the best in the world. And I’m so thankful to have found him.

K-Laser & Class 4 Laser Therapy

K-Laser is a Class 4 Laser which offers a very gentle, non invasive and effective method to treat a wide range of conditions.

The Class 4 Laser uses specific frequencies of light to stimulate cells. This helps reduce pain and inflammation and in turn speeds up the healing process.

Class 4 Laser treatment is very pleasant, you experience a gentle, soothing warmth and can occasionally cause some drowsiness afterwards. It takes around 24 hours for the full effect of a treatment to work.

A course of Class 4 Laser treatment is usually recommended.

The settings can easily be adapted for a persons skin colour, but treating areas where the skin is tattooed is not advised.

The K-Laser is especially helpful for treating Elderly People, People with acute and chronic issues. It’s a great alternative for people who don't want Osteopathic Manipulation or Acupuncture.

Class 4 Lasers work in a number of ways:

Increased Blood Flow: Class 4 Lasers cause vasodilation, which improves the blood circulation and in turn helps with cell nutrition and the removal of cell waste and inflammatory factors. The K-Laser also helps with lymphatic drainage of the area. This helps with bruising and local inflammation.

Pain Reduction: Class 4 Lasers help to reduce nerve excitability and helps restore normal nerve signalling. Simply put, it helps the nervous system to relax - and this is one of the reasons you may fell drowsiness following treatment.

Anti-Inflammation: Class 4 Lasers help with the healing process by normalising inflammation. Bear in mind that the inflammation is a vital part of the healing process, especially in acute injuries. But at times inflammation itself can be a major source of pain and the chronification of the condition e.g. Osteoarthritis.

Accelerated Tissue Repair: The light from the Class 4 Laser penetrates over 3 inches into the tissue. This light has a wonderful effect on tissue and cells by increasing cellular reproduction and growth by increasing cellular metabolism. This in turn helps speed up the repair of ligaments, tendons, muscles, nerves and bone.

k-laser-reducing-scaring.jpgReduced Scarring: The Class 4 Laser will help reduce the formation of scar tissue. The K-Laser encourages the body to lay down collagen in a more organised way, meaning in the treated area the collagen will be more elastic and cross weaved. This will result in a far neater scar.
