Drysdale Osteopathy Glasgow

Can I give six stars? David is a true professional who has helped me through challenging times of severe neck and shoulder pain to a place of real comfort and being able to get on with life. David talks you through everything and will advise not to continue treatment if you no longer need it. I will be back in the future (hopefully not too soon!) and I would not hesitate to recommend him - I have passed his name on to many people already.

Drysdale Osteopathy • Knee Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis of the knee effects people over the age of 40, troubling women more than men.

Drysdale Osteopathy, Knee Osteoarthritis, Arthritis, Knee PainOsteoarthritis is "Wear & Tear" of the joint. This is a gradual process where the cartilege that protects the joint is slowly eroded.

There may be some bony overgrowth around the joint margins as the condition progresses.

In the earlier stages osteopathy and acupuncture can be very helpful for reducing pain and increasing joint mobility.

Symptoms include:

   Pain
   Stiffness
   Decreased range of motion
   Weakness of the leg
   Swelling of the knee

Predisposing factors include:

   Obesity
   Trauma
   Overuse

Hypermobility X-Ray confirms diagnosis.

Treatment involves keeping the knee and hip joint mobile. Treating the pain and stiffness with acupuncture and massage.

Dietary changes, weight loss and specific exercises also go a long way in helping with this condition.
