We will ask what your symptoms are and when they began.

You will then be examined and we will run through various procedures to make an assessment of how best to treat you. At this stage we rule out any unusual symptoms, which would make treatment unsuitable. If this is the case you will be referred back to your GP.

If you would like to bring someone with you to the appointment then you are very welcome to.

We are very sensitive to patient's modesty and provide towels. There is absolutely no need for you to be fully exposed during treatment. We want our patients to be relaxed, not self-conscious.

Treatments can usually take place wearing loose clothing, a T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms are ideal.

Treatment should not involve any pain. There may be a reaction to treatment for 24 to 36 hours as the tissues adapt.

There is often an increase in blood flow through the tissue and this may cause some discomfort. This is similar to post exercise stiffness.
