Drysdale Osteopathy • Posture & Pyloric Stenosis

Drysdale Osteopathy • Posture & Pyloric Stenosis Patient: Male 19 years
Occupation: Electrician
Pain: Constant 4/10

Complaint: Chronic, ongoing shoulder & neck pain. This pain is worse while lifting and carrying at work. On examination a deep scar was noticed on the right side of this patients abdomen. This scar was from an operation performed for Pyloric Stenosis when 1 year of age. The area around the scar was very constricted, and trigger points were found in the abdominal muscles. This was the cause of the patients stooped posture.

Treatment: Acupuncture of trigger points in the abdomen & shoulder girdle. Osteopathic manipulation of the neck & thoracic spine. Stretching exercises for the abdominal area.

Prognosis: Good. After 4 treatments the patient was 90% better. This patient will occasionally need further treatment. He needs to continue with the stretching exercises.
